Hearing loss can occur at any age. While seniors often suffer from hearing difficulties, infants, children and young adults may experience problems as well. At Northwestern Medicine's Audiology Department, we customize evaluations, treatments and services to match specific needs and unique situations.

Our experts are licensed Doctors of Audiology, have the Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, are members of the American Academy of Audiology.
In addition to hearing loss, the Audiology Department also evaluates and treats patients suffering from dizziness and balance disorders as well as tinnitus (hearing noises when no external sound is present).
Approximately 50 percent of all those affected by tinnitus also suffer from hearing loss and/or hyperacusis (oversensitivity to noise).
