One out of every 10 Americans (28 million) has some degree of hearing loss that is not only a barrier to social occasions, but can also affect work and relationships.
Hearing loss can occur at any age. While seniors often suffer from hearing difficulties, infants, children and young adults may experience problems as well. At Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital’s Audiology Department, we customize evaluations, treatments and services to match specific needs and unique situations.
The Audiology Department provides the full range of exceptional services and products.
In addition to hearing loss, the Audiology Department also evaluates and treats patients suffering from dizziness and balance disorders as well as tinnitus (hearing noises when no external sound is present).
Approximately 50 percent of all those affected by tinnitus also suffer from hearing loss and/or hyperacusis (oversensitivity to noise).
Our experts are licensed Doctors of Audiology, have the Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, are members of the American Academy of Audiology and are affiliated with the Northwestern Medical Faculty Foundation.
We offer a variety of appointment times to best fit our patients' busy schedules. Please call to determine the best appointment time for you.
